A few weeks ago, I took Carlos, Silas, and Petra to a kite festival in Winchester. We had a great time. The weather was gorgeous. My mom and Gary were there, selling Frisbees and playing with people.
Carlos had never flown a kite before. I think he ended up enjoying it.
The trick kites were fantastic. There was one guy who flew two stunt kites, by himself, with choreography, to music. That act blew me away, but Silas seemed unimpressed. I thought of a magician friend who told me he hates doing birthday shows for toddlers, because everything is hard for them. He said, “It’s like they’re thinking, ‘Whoop-dee-doo, you pulled a dove out of your sleeve. I bet you can tie your own shoes, too.'”
Silas was significantly more impressed with the dog who could fly a kite. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a picture of that one.
