Yesterday afternoon, Silas and Petra were playing with buckets of water on the porch. They played happily for a long time. Then Silas dumped water on Petra’s head, knocked her over, fell down, and started crying.
JC said, “Are you hurt?”
Silas replied, “No, I’m just hungry and tired.”
So he fed the boy and put him to bed.
He’s not quite three and he has developed both the vocabulary and self-awareness to identify the root cause of his problems. He might not still have those abilities the next time, but doing this even once before…say…25 years old is an accomplishment. High fives all around.
