Squirrel Kitchen

The kids spent so much time this spring and into the summer playing in the trees. Silas is finally big enough to reliably climb a tree, and he’s very excited about that.

I set up a play kitchen in the woods–just a board across some logs–and gave Petra a few old pots and things. She loves to pretend she’s a squirrel cooking in her squirrel kitchen.

I do still wish that they’d go out on their own more, or think of it on their own, but having more things they can do independently outside has helped a lot.
