I had an ultrasound with the traveling sonographer who comes to Brookhaven. I was relieved to see that there was ONE baby in there, and it’s measuring exactly on target for dates. The sonographer said that everything looked good–nice and symmetrical without random bumps or something.
She was able to even see a heartbeat. Although it was too faint to measure, we all saw it, and she made a little video of it.
I just can’t get over how impossible and crazy this whole thing is. A baby made from two other people’s gametes is actually for real growing inside my body, and we can see it moving at five weeks gestation. How does science even?
