Everywhere we went in Lisbon, there was so much cool public art. Some of it was officially-sanctioned, but plenty was a bit more…rogue.
All of the art made walking through the city feel like being in a gallery. At every turn, artists had left their mark, in a variety of media, eras, styles, and points of view.
Silas was particularly taken with the graffiti. Fitting, then, that when we spent our last day in Lisbon visiting the immersive Banksy Museum, he said it was the best museum he’d ever been to. As we literally “exit[ed] through the gift shop,” I offered to get him something. He said no thanks. “It’s not even the images so much as the experience of the whole thing.”
That’s what Lisbon was. The experience of the whole thing.
